Get your blog indexed by major search engine such as Google is really important especially if you were targeting on traffics from the search engine. Get your blog indexed by search engine such as google is one of the most important thing that you should learn to SEO your blog. By get indexing by Google, your article in the blog now can be show up in the search engine.

First of all, make sure you have read my “How to check if my blog already get index by google?” post before you read the above method.

1. Add you blog link to the social bookmarking site

There is a lot of social bookmarking in the internet right now. But, our target is to get our blog indexed by the search engine through social bookmarking. So, we choose some high PageRank (PR) social bookmarking site to submit our blog.

Why we need to add our blog to high PR social bookmarking site? This is because google spider frequently visits this high PR site looking for new content in it. So, once the google spider crawl to the website and found your blog link there, the Google Spider also will automatically crawl to your blog. When the Google Spider crawl to your blog, thats meant your blog is already started to be indexed by GOOGLE. Easy right?

But most people doesn’t know which high PR social bookmarking site should I choose? Here you go, Taufik Hidayat has share his List of High PR Social Bookmarking Site at WMTips.

2. Make a comment on Do-Follow blog

What is Do-Follow blog? Do-Follow blog is blog that already alters the rel=”nofollow” tag in their comment section. All you have to do is comment on that do-follow blog by including your blog link in the comment URL form. Once google come to that do-follow blog and found your blog link in the comment sections, it will automatically follow your blog and indexing your blog in the same time. Really easy right?

And just like submitting to social bookmarking site technique, you also need to make sure you comment on high PR do-follow blog. But, where I can found any do-follow blog? Here is some of my favourite Do-follow list and Do-follow blog directories:

And many more which you can find out thorugh google. Make sure you make a real comment and not just some spammy comments such as “That’s great”, “Thanks”, “Useful :)” and etc since this blog often use comment moderation to approve the comments. Don’t be lazy to read up the article first before you comment if you want your comment to be approved and get indexed by google faster in the same time.

3. Add your blog to Google Analytics Tool

This is one of the famous way to get your blog get index faster by Google. Google Analytics is a tool which is use to make analysis on your blog. By using this tool, you can easily observe everything that happen on your site.

How did this technique work? Well, during the registration of your blog to the Google Analytics, you need to add the meta url to your blog code to make sure your blog is approved. So, during that time Google Spider will automatically visit you site to find that meta url and automatically index your site.

Apart from just to get your blog index by google, this tool is really useful for other purposes to such as maintaining your blog. If you were using self-hosted wordpress blog, you can easily add Google Analytics code to your site using this plugin: Google Analytics for WordPress.

4. Make an article and submit it to article submission site

This trick already been used for many years and it still work well to get your blog index by google faster. I know that many of us doesn’t like to write an article and submit it to the article submission directory. But, believe me that this technique really work although it consume your time a bit.

You will not only get your blog index faster but google, but you also can get some instant traffics to your blog just by submitting some useful article to those Article Submission site.

Just like the another technique above, you still need to make sure that you submit your article to high PR list of Article Submission site. Here the top 10 high PR Free Article Submission from DollorShower.

But make sure that you hyperlink your blog address in the article and make sure that the article you were writing is in the same topic with the blog that you want to get the blog indexed faster by google.

Well, there are actually a lot more technique to get your blog index by google faster. But the top 4 above are my favourite and worked for most of my blog to get index faster by google.

How to secure your WordPress Fantastico installations

As we all know, installing wordpress blog using Fantastico is really easy and quick. Fantastico is a really great cPanel plugin. But, there’s a disadvantages of installing wordpress blog using it because of the security problem with that script if you follow the normal way to create a wordpress blog using fantastico tutorial. So, here it is the quick and easy way to patch the security holes from the fantastico wordpress installations.

The main problem installing wordpress blog using fantastico is it created the same database name and user for every installations of wordpress using fantastico. It will automatically created a Database name & user: wrdp_1 for every first installations. So, it will be easy for the hackers to enter your site since the only things that they need to figure out is your PASSWORD !!

It will be more tougher for them to hack your site if you patched this WordPress Fantastico installations immedietly. How to patch it? Easy, just create a new Database Name & Database Username with new password by following my previous tutorial on “How to create mySQL Databases in Cpanel“.

After you have finish creating the new Database name & Database username, open your cPanel homepage and search for Files panel. And then, click on that File Manager icon and select access Web Root.

Select the folder where you have install the wordpress blog before using fantastico. And then, search for the wp-config.php file in it.

Click on edit to edit that config.php file. And then, you will found something like the codes:

Now, all you have to do is to replace this php code string:

With the Database Name & Database Username with it’s password that you have created before. After that, save that files. Now, you Fantastico wordpress blog is already fully secured with its new database name & username with tough password.

For anyone that already have content in the blog that you installed using fantastico, you will lose all the content if you change your Databases. But, still there is another way to overcome this problem to have your WordPress Fantastico blog installations secured from the hackers. I will cover this in my another blog post. How to install wordpress blog easily for newbies?

When I was in my early in this blogging arena, install wordpess site is a really tough things to do. Normally, I will receive a lot of error on the php script and all that. Sometimes it drive me nuts when my wordpress site installations is failed. So, for the newbies out there that still thinking of ways to create wordpress site easily, here’s the tutorial for you.

All you have to do is using Fanstastico script Installations that come with your hosting in your cPanel. Install a wordpress blog using fanstastico might not be really safe & secure, but I will cover about how to secure your Fantastico wordpress installations in the next post. But, for the newbies out there here is the quick way for you to create wordpress blog using Fantastico plugin.

First, login to your hosting cPanel. Scroll down to the bottom and search for the software/services panel. The panel look may vary depends on your cPanel type. But, just try to search for this grey smiley icon in that panel. Click on it.

After that, on the left sidebar choose WordPress from the BLOGS list. Click on it and select the New Installation.

And then, on the Installation Location select the domain name that you want the wordpress blog to be created. If you wish to create the wordpress blog in domain sub-directory you can type the directory name that you want the wordpress site to be installed in the Install in Directory section. If you wish to install the wordpress site in sub-domain using Fantastico, just create a sub-domain in your cPanel and select to sub-domain that you have created in Install on Domain.

After that, on the Admin Access data enter the desired username and password that you want to use to login into your wordpress site dashboard. For Base Configuration, enter your nickname and a valid email address. After that, enter your site name & it’s description. For this one, you also can change it later. After settle with everything, click on that Install WordPress button.

And then, click the Finish Installation button to finish the wordpress installation. After that, you will receive information about your new blog installation. You can login to your new wordpress blog at: http://your-domain-name.com/wp-admin/. Enter the username and password that you have choose before and you can begin to post.

But remember, this installations is not secure enough. On the next post I will show you how to make your Fantastico WordPress Blog secure from hackers !! You doesn’t want this thing happen to your site right?

How to create mySQL Databases in Cpanel

Creating mySQL Databases is a really important thing to be added if you were using any Content Management Script (CMS) or any other script that require you to add mySQL databases into their script. But, creating and adding mySQL Databases sometimes is really hard to do especially for the newbies. And also, not many people know how to secure or use a strong mySQL Databases to prevent their site to be hacked through backdoor because of the script vulnerability.

To create a mySQL databases, first you must have a webhosting that serve you with CPanel or DirectAdmin. Open up your CPanel, go to Databases column and select the mySQL Databases icon.

And then, create a new database by entering your database name. For this, I highly recommend you to create a hard guess database name. Try to enter a random letter with number and capital. This is one of the way to make sure you have a high security database to be added into the script. And then click create database.

After you have finished creating the mySQL database name, go back again to the mySQL Databases page. Scroll down to the bottom and search for mySQL user. And then at the username, again use a hard guess name that have combinations of low case, capital letter, number or any random text. And then for the password, I highly recommend you to use “Generate password”. A pop-up will appear with the recommended random password. And then click on create user button.

You also can copy and save the database username & password into notepad for futher reference. After that, click back. Now, we need to merge both Database Name and Database Users to create a complete mySQL Database to be use in your web script. Scroll down again to the below and search for Add user to Database. Choose the Database Name and the Database Username that we have created before and click on the add butoon.

After that tick on that “All Privileges” and “Save Change”. Now you are done creating your own high security mySQL database.

It is not that hard too actually right? Now you use the mySQL databases data to intergrate your hosting with any of web script that required it such as wordpress, joomla, drupal, phpBB, VBulettin and many more.

How to automatically pinging WordPress Blog

Pinging your blog frequently is really an essential. With “PING”, you can tell the spider crawler from different site to crawl and indexing your latest blog post. But, pinging your blog manually can be a time consuming job. Thanks to WordPress for developing this cool function to automatically send ping to all the Pinging Service crawlers. But a lot of people still doesn’t get it on How to auto ping using wordpress blog platform.

Note : This method is 100% works for self-hosted wordpress blog. For other, you can do it automatically also, but in different technique. I will show it to you too.

First, login into your wordpress admin dashboard. And then, scroll below on your sidebar and search for the SETTINGS tab. Click on it and choose WRITING option like above:

After that, take a look on the below box. Browse until you found this Update Services with a large text area box.

Paste the following PING URL into the text area section. Just copy and paste all the following PING URL and then hit the Save Changes button.

Including the PING URL itself is just not enough. Since you have to ping to many type of server, it will taking a lot of time for you to publish your post since wordpress will ping the server first and then it will publish your post. But don’t worry, you can solve this problem by using this No Ping Wait wordpress plugin.

All you have to do is download, extract, upload and activate this No Ping Wait wordpress plugin in your blog. Download this plugin; No Ping Wait. After that, the pinging process will be run automatically and you don’t have to wait wordpress to pinging all the Pinging Services before publishing your post.

For those who using other blog platforms, you still can pinging your site too. But you can’t do it automatically like what wordpress does. You can ping your site using this free pinging services: Pingler.

Be always remember that the latest Pinging Services URL list can be often updated. So, it is important for you to keep up to date with the latest ping URL list. Hint, take a look at the Pingler site.

How to migrating old wordpress to the new one

A few days ago, i was just finished migrating my old lovely wordpress blog, which is Dare to be Rare? since i think I could update two blog with the same niche together. But, I still love and missing my good ol’ day posting on that old wordpress blog. So, I decide to migrate that blog together into this blog and get daily traffic back from my old blog. So, here’s how I make all the things work. Follow on this Tutorial on How to migrate your old wordpress blog to your new wordpress blog.

First, migrating your old wordpress blog are just using this simple technique which is: Export, Import & Re-Direct it. So, let begin which each of them follow by the sequence.

Export your Old WordPress blog post

First, you need to Export all your old post & content that you have in your previous wordpress blog. Using this simple technique, it will backup and export all your blog post, comments, categories, picture that you host and also page. So, to avoid duplications on category and page, make sure you backup and delete all your late page and categories.

To export the wordpress XML file, login to your old wordpres admin dashboard. And then, click on the manage tab. After that click on the export at the sub-tab. You will see this following option.

Choose to export all authors or you just can select anyone that you. But, I am highly recommend you to choose the All Authors option. And then, download the XML file to your computer. Now, you’ve already finish exporting the XML file, so lets upload it back using the Import Option in your new wordpress blog.

Importing back the old wordpress to new wordpress

So, we have alreay finish exporting the XML file. Lets uplaod it back. At the dashboard panel, click on manage > import. Then, you will see a table with a lot of importing option from other blog CMS. Choose wordpress which is at the bottom of the table. This will import posts, comments, custom fields, pages, and categories from the WordPress export file.

Upload back the old wordpress XML file that we have export and download before. Just follow all the option that wil be ask after the uploading process. Now your’e DONE! All the post, comment, and all that has been imported to your current and brand new wordpress.

Now, to make sure Google give some love to your blog and not penalty you for duplicate content, lets redirect your old wordpress blog to your new wordpress blog.

Redirect old wordpress using .htaccess

To redirect your old wordpress to the new one is so easy. It’s not only redirect your blog domain url, but also redirect the old wp post link to your new wordpress blog which this option will automatically redirect any old url and matched it to the link in your new wordpress blog.

To redirect, we will use the redirect 301 in the .htaccess file. Now, how to do that? First, open up your FTP programme (i use filezilla here). And the browse through your file in the in the main core of your wordpress file which is where all the wordpress cms file located at. Then, select the .htaccess file in your public_html folder and download it.

After that, open that file using your Notepad. Then, you will this bunch of code such as this (content may vary):

RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]


# END WordPress

Now, you need to add the wordpress Redirect 301 code to the .htaccess file. The code will look like this:
Redirect 301 / http://www.yournewblogdomain.com/. But, if your old blog have a folder eg: http://myblog.com/sucks, you also need to add the /sucks folder in the .htaccess file too. So, the code will look like this:

Redirect 301 /sucks/ http://www.yournewblogdomain.com/

Then, the final code in your .htaccess file will look like this:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
Redirect 301 / http://thumlog.com/

Save the file and upload it back to your old wordpress main root folder using your FTP programme. And then, try to login to your old wordpress blog and it will redirect to your brand new wordpress blog. See? that is really easy right. You also doesn’t need to worry losing your old blog traffic since all the link in google search result will be redirect to your new wordpress blog. Look at this example, click on the link below, which is from my old wordpress blog and it will redirect to the new one:

Notice the URL changes? Well, that is the power of Redirect 301! Now you can migrate any of your old wordpress blog to the new one without worry losing your visitor. The only thing that you may lose is your wordpress blog pagerank.

Thinking of new theme design for this blog

Wait for this picture to load. It’s kinda huge in size.
Well, i have spend my day today to look all over the design related website. Searching for inspirations. Actually, i’ve think that I want to change this blog theme. Well, this theme do still look great. But I want to make something that have more functions compare to this. So yeah, I make the design done in Adobe Photoshop. I also finish slice up all the image for the sake of CSS.

What is my inspirations? I got this inspirations when stumble upon at Kreativ Use blog. The 30 Cool Pink-ish Web Designs blog did give me some inspirations for the color combinations. Well, at least it does blend well.

So, I think im gonna coded this template into HTML & CSS first. Yeah, it is coding is painful for newbies like me. But i give a try for this. After I have finish coding this to HTML & CSS template, then I will convert it into WordPress Theme. Well, converting html templates to wordpress is much more easier since you just need to substitute the php codes to replace the HTML. Haha. Let see how this thing gonna work.

Designer out there, do have any idea to share with me? At least an easy tips to make a WordPress Theme does help me too. Dont worry, i’m a fast-learner person.

Here is the list of some great quality online tools for Webmasters. There’s a lot of this cool online tools to help you in order to maintain your website or blog to the fullest. So, make use of them fully too. Most of the online tools are FREE and work the best like others too. I’ve come across to many site/tools that offer value to webmasters espcially in designing, developing and maintaining websites/blog. Although there’s still a lot of them in my list, but here it is a few of them for you to use. Read below:

1. Keyword suggestion tool
Free Keyword Suggestion tool is a really for you to select a keyword. All you have to do is enter a keyword and it will give you some suggested keyword and how often people search for it. This is really important espcially if you are starting your blog or website. From here you can choose some keyword to build your website to make sure it is high ranking to the SEO.

2. Google Anylatics
Google Anylatics is really important to a website or a blog. This tool will make you easier to analyse your blog on what people search in your blog. So, you can make content from what they oftenly search on your web. Yes, this thing also can be done in cpanel. But i choose to use the Nuffnang Analytics beside that.

3. Free stock images
Images is really important things to be added into your web content. Any image or graphic can attract the readers to read more on your website. For some great collections of free stock images can be found at sxc.hu. Apart from that, you also can use some graphic stock at iSTOCKphoto. Yes, you also can use images from other websites but make sure to credited them in your blog post.

4. Sitemap Generator
Sitemap is really important for a website. In order to make sure the spider crawl to your blog, you need to insert a sitemap to your blog/website. This will make your blog to be indexed quickly and corrrectly in search engine results. To have your site indexed more quickly, regularly and completely, you need an XML sitemap that conforms to the current sitemaps protocol.For Joomla, WordPress or other web CMS, there’s likely a lot of plugin that automatically generates the sitemap for your web. But for Blooger/Blogspot you can use Google Webmaster Tools to create the sitemap. Or else, you can use xml-sitemaps.com to manually spider your site and create one for you.

5. Favicon Editor & Generator
What else can make your blog stand out differently than others is the FAVICON! Favicon is a little icon that appears beside the URL, the title in the tab, and the favorite/bookmark, depending on your browser. It’s becoming more common practice to for sites to have a custom favicon as the identity for the web although it is not really important actually. So, why not gives a professional looks on your website using this online Favicon generator by degraeve.com. You can draw online by your now or just upload a 16×16 .png icon file to generate your own favicon.ico file for your blog.

6. Color Matching Tool
Creating a new templates/skins? But clueless with what colour you should combine with? This online colour matcher tool by hypergul.com will do it all for you. You can use this tool to blend your adsense ads too. Cool right? Just enter the color HEX code such as #0000f0 and they match the complimentary colors to incorporate into the design for you. CSS has been known as the beautifier of a website or a blog. But not all of us are really familiar with CSS and reaally need help sometime right? If you have any question about CSS or would like help creating an effect on your site that you’ve seen on another, you’ll most likely find the information there!It is an incredibly valuable and comprehensive one for you to get help and start with.

Having a really really long URL? Then use some of this online generator which will crunch your blog URL to become shorter. You can try tinyurl.com, shorturl.com, moourl.com, snipurl.com, 0rz.com or is.gd. OR you can also crunch together a bunch of URL into a single URL using afewurls.com and use the URL shorter above to shortern them back. Or dream of longer URL instead of short one? wideurl.com is the answer for you. Ohmy, anyone want to use this? haha

Lol. I was so bored today. I just fill up my day by reading the scam e-books of AdsenseTaiko at NoktahHitam blog today. Yes, that e-book is totally scam! haha. I also get jealous with our wordpress princess current theme. Take a look at her blog: AisyahRozi.com. tee-hee.

Okey, cut the crap. Actually, today I want to share with you this technique that I was discovered while playing with CSS codes today.

Yay! I manage to hide the Nuffnang Ads Footer. I mean that grey footer that appears in each ads that served in our blog. ROFL. This tutorial is really inspired by my Friendster Hide Code Tutorial. Actually, I want to hide some part on that MyBlogLog widget. Then, why not Im trying to hide that Ads footer right? tee-hee. Proceed below for the tutorial:

First, I assume that you are familiar with the basic of CSS oke. This tutorial doesnt involved you to tweak any HTML. && I use WordPress for this tutorial. I dont know whether it work on blogspot or not. Im not familiar with blogspot. Hehe. Now, open your wordpress dashboard and click on presentation then to theme editor menu. Read this tutorial on”How to edit your theme from dashboard” first.

ya, ya, ya. Im still not yet updating my wordpress :(

Then, go to your current theme style.css aka stylesheet file. Just go to the bottom, and paste this code:

/* Nuffnang footer hide bebeh ==================*/ table#nnadsfoot { display: none; }

Then click save! Go to your blog and there you have it! The small ads footer is INVISIBLE!! Yay! ROFL.

I dont know whether this technique is against the TOS. Because i only know that we cant change the code that we have copy and paste from Nuffnang right? Since i didnt touch any single code from it, i think it is fine for me to hide it lorr. If not, then you Nuffnang people should update your ads script code lah! Simple right? tee-hee. I know you have powerful developer there. Hehe. Do something like adsense. Because i cant hide their Ads footer. Lmao. Or is it because im Noob? What ever.~
