I have received this email invitation from Friendster Team yesterday. Well, they were looking for BETA USER to test their new blogging platform. If before this, Friendster blog was powered by movable typepad but now Friendster Blogs is powered with WORDPRESS! That is such a great option to choose wordpress as Friendster Blog CMS.

Friendster Blog 2.0 Sneek Peek

The basic wordpress wp-admin interface in Friendster Blogs 2.0. It is the same just like what we have in here. Love the way they intergrate the wordpress look with friendster main website look. I wish i can tweak and make something like that too.

Well, there is more to be explore. I also manage to make my Friendster 2.0 Blog SEO Friendly. Friendster Team also currently has installed several themes for their new blogging 2.0 system. Just hoping them to install more plugins in it.

Insert Youtube video to Friendster blog

I have found out that Friendster Blog doesnt allowed their user to embed a video or any javascript file to their Blog Content Manangment System. But hey, cheat to win. Several Friendster Blog user has found out a simple hack on Friendster Blog to embed Youtube Video or any video website. It is just so simple and i think this may also can be applied in other blog CMS. Perhaps so. I dont think that Friendster will patch this hole.

Well, here how it work. First, go to Youtube and get the embed code for your Youtube Video. Just copy the copy at the embed code boxes and we are ready to paste the code to your Friendster blog.

Then, go to your Friendster blog homepage. If you still didnt create your friendster blog, i suggest you to read this tutorial on “How to make a Friendster Blog” first. Where is your Friendster blog Homepage? At home, click at the dropdown menu and select update blog. Then, create a new post.

To insert youtube video to your post, click at the mailto picture. The button with a letters icon.

After you have click that button, a new pop-up will appeared. Now, paste the code that you have copied from Youtube. Paste and hit the ok button.

Then, you can hit the save button or preview first your entry. Then you will get something like this:

How to create Friendster Blog

Everyone know that Friendster also offered you a blogging service. Myspace also have one. But the different is, Friendster Blog need to be registered first since they were powered by Movable TypePad blogging service. A lot of people finding difficulties to create that Friendster Typepad blog. Did you know that you also can customize your Friendster blog with CSS? I mean external CSS. Since for free versions, there is a lot of limitations for you especially there’s a lot of Google Ads. But im not covering this for this time. I’ll show you that in the next Tutorial. Today, ill teach How to create a Friendster Blog.

First, at the homepage, click the dropdown menu and select Update Blog. This will bring you the the page to sign up for the blog.

Click update blog to start setup your Friendster Blog

After that, select the Friendster Blogs Free (Ad-Supported) option if you didn’t afford for the paid one. Well, everyone love freebies right? Haha. After that, here is the most challenging part. Choose the name for your blog. You should always remember that you CANNOT change your Friendster blog address anymore after this. So, make sure you has choose the best one for your Blog URL. Then, select agree to the Terms and Service and proceed to the next step.

Select the free service, then enter your blog URL

After that, you will be prompt to enter your Friendster Blog Title and select the layout and theme for your Friendster Blog. The design will be able to be change to better one using CSS soon. So, just select this for temporary only. Proceed to the next step and you can start BLOGGING using your Friendster Blog!

Now you can select your friendster blog name and layout

Owh, if you have occured something like said that you need to be 18 years old and plus to use Friendster Blogging service, it is easy to cheat for this. Go to your Edit Profile and change the year of your birth to 1985 and below.

Change your Friendster Age to be 18 years old and above

Now you will be able to register for Friendster Blog. After that, you change back your age to normal. Cheat to WIN! Haha
