Yahoo Messenger is a really good application for you to communicate with your friends & family although there’s already a lot of the same application such as msn messenger, skype, Aol and also Google Talk. But, I don’t like to install Yahoo Messenger software in my computer. Google has introduced their Google Labs application in their Gmail. Do you know that you can embed your Yahoo Messenger widgets in your Gmail via the google labs widgets? Here’s a simple tutorial on how to get your Yahoo Messenger widgets in Gmail.
First, click on Google Labs Button in your Gmail account which is the green button. But, for anyone that still doesn’t know where Google Labs is in your Gmail account you can enable it. Go to Settings → Labs to enable the Google Labs Application. I know, not everyone know about this stuff before right? Just like me.

And then, scroll to the bottom of the page, and you will see the “Add any gadget by URL” application. Click on “enable” to activate the application on your Google Labs. And then, Save Changes.

After that, click on the “Gadgets” tab which is next to the Google Labs tab before. Form there, you can see the “Add any gadgets by Url” widgets.

To add the Yahoo Messenger (YM) widgets, copy and paste the following Url into the box in that gadgets page.
http://www.gadzi.com/gadgets/yahoo-messenger.xml
Paste it, and click on the ADD button to embed the yahoo messenger application to your gmail account.
After that, you will see the page for you to log in to your Yahoo Messenger account at the sidebar of your Gmail page. Just log in as usual and you can use the Yahoo Messenger instantly in your Gmail page! Easy wasn’t it? Take a look how does does this Gmail Labs Yahoo Messenger look like in your Gmail account in this picture → Yahoo Messenger Widgets in Gmail. Well, it doesn’t look nice right? But atleast you still can use it.
Cool right? There’s a lot of other fun things to be explored in Google Labs. Take a look on one by one of those application in the Google Labs. To get the full lists of Google Labs applications, visit IGoogle website.
Credit to Hardyw3b for this tutorial which was in malay in his language. It really take time for me to add this application in my Gmail before since the tutorial in that web doesn’t have show where to activate the Google Labs in Gmail and of course the “Add any gadgets by URL” page. Haha.
