To find a website IP address and the it’s neighborhood website is a really useful skills especially when you are doing some research about some website. For example, you wanted to know what is the other blog that own by this website owner or maybe you wanted to know how many websites is sharing a server with your website. It is really easy tho, to find a website IP address and it’s neighborhood site. Follow the tutorial below if you wanted to know how to find a website IP address & it’s neighborhood sites.

First of all, you have to do website reverse IP look-up to find the website IP address. I always use this website online service, iWebtool to do it. Just go to iWebtool to find the website IP address.

Insert the website url in the form to find the website IP address. But make sure you don’t include the http:// in the website address. For example, my blog url is thumlog.com. Then click go.

After that, copy the website IP address given. Mine for example is 202.190.179.27.

After we have the reverse IP address of the website domain name, we can search for the website’s neighborhood sites. To do that, you can use this free service by WebsiteNeighbors to find a website’s neighborhood sites.

Paste the reverse IP address that we have did before on the form and click look up to check the website’s neighborhood sites.

Then, you will be given a full lists of the website’s IP neighborhood, which is the websites that been hosted under the same server with your websites.

Why is it important to look up for your website neighborhood? Well, I usually do it to make sure that the hosting service that I currently did not cramped too many website under one server which could cause harm for your website or blog uptime.

It is also bad for your website SEO if there are inappropriate websites hosted together with your website under a same IP address. They can be websites infected with viruses, porno and gambling related etc that had been banned and blacklisted by search engine such as Google.

So, it is good for you to find your website IP address or other people website IP address and look up for their neighborhood websites. Especially if you wanted to do some research about your competitors websites.

It is such an awesome widget which work like just Formspring. But, have you ever wonder to add Tumblr Ask widget to any place of your blog? Yes, you can add this Tumblr Ask widgets to any where in your blog.

First of all, make sure you had already enable the “Tumblr Ask” functions in your Tumblr account. To do this, go to Customize and click on Community tab. Scroll down and tick on “Let people ask questions” to activate your Tumblr Ask functions.

Now you can easily access your Tumblr Ask page at your-url.tumblr.com/ask. But that is not what we wanted to do here, we wanted to add the Tumblr Ask widget itself to any place in our blog. To that is simple, just copy the code below:

Microblogging had been so popular recently since the birth of Twitter and also some microblogging site such as Tumblr. Recently, I had just tried another cool microblogging service provided by Posterous. Posterous is just like Tumblr since it allowed users to create their own blog and share stuff such as video or photos easily.

Posterous is open for all, so you can register for it. One of the cool functions that I love about Posterous is, it allowed user to have their own custom domain name instead of using Posterous sub-domain. Apart from that, Posterous also enable user to share contents to their blog using various medium such as through e-mail, mobile phone, and also using apps for smartphone such as iPhone or Android.

Posterous also have this cool functions like Ping.fm which enable your Posterous contents to be posted automatically to various social network website such as Flickr, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and many more. Today, I was browsing around CodeCanyon looking around for some awesome script and code snippets to be buy. In case you don’t know, CodeCanyon is a script and code snippets marketplace. It really useful for webmasters and web developers. Back to the topic, I found this awesome wordpress plugin called “WordPress Community Links” which created by Garyc40.

It is such an awesome plugin that automatically turned the normal wordpress blog into a community links blog just like Digg and other bookmarking website. You can watch how easy it is to use this plugin from the demo video below:

I ain’t get paid any single cents for writing this. But here are some of the functions that I really love from this plugin:

It have auto connects with Facebook account. So, the user doesn’t have to fill any registrations form before they can submit a link.
This plugin too, seems like work perfectly on most wordpress theme. Although some minor coding are needed to make sure it work perfectly, but I think everyone with basic HTML knowledge can do.
The price is so crazy! Seriously there are a lot of crappy wordpress plugin out there that cost more but doesn’t work properly.

10 Big Advertising Dos and Don’ts For New Blogs

New bloggers are often overwhelmed with the need to get effective advertising for their site. They are prone to jump into the fray and disregard some of the basics. Here are some of the basic do’s and don’ts of online advertising.

DO have a plan – This is essential for any business, whether online or not. Planning answers the question about how you are going to get users onto your site. Write the tactics that you plan to use down so that you can track the results. Having a direction is much more effective than the ‘throw noodles at the wall and see what sticks’ approach to marketing and advertising.
DO NOT post irrelevant ads – You will get more clicks and more advertising revenue if you place ads that are relevant to the subject of your blog. If you’re blogging about hair care products, advertisements about barbells are useless.
DO your research – Any successful businessperson can tell you that researching is one of the most important parts of the job. Everything on the web has the potential of generating ideas to make your blog more successful. There might be new forms of advertising which would allow you to be on the ‘bleeding edge’ of technology. There might be a pop-up advertisement which is not annoying.
